Elvis Presley - Put Your Hand in the Hand (Gospel Favourites (Aus))
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man
From Galilee
My momma taught me how to pray
Before I reached the age of seven
When Im down on my knees
That's when Im closest to heaven
Daddy lived his life, two kids and a wife
Well you do what you must do
But he showed me enough of what it takes
To get me through, oh yeah!
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man
From Galilee
Oh yeah!
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man
From Galilee
Oh yeah!
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man
From Galilee
Oh yeah!
Put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee
Put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee, Oh yeah!
Put your hand in the hand-Elvis Presley (03:17)
gospel song performed by elvis presley
He is credited as a co-writer of "(I'll) You'll Be Gone" (1965). This was the B side of the hit from his film Girl Happy (1965), "Do The Clam". It is found in his five-CD box set of '60s recordings. Elvis composed the lyrics and brought the song to a recording session

Just because Elvis didn't write most of his songs doesn't mean he wasn't capable of doing so. Look at country singer George Strait, between his first album and his current album he didn't write any of his own material.

What an amazing song this is - hadn't heard this for about 20 years!! Right in the It's Now or Never, Surrender mould - fantastic.

Who cares if he didn't write his own music?! What the hell does the public want from him? Let's give the guy 8 arms and have him work his ass off harder than her already did. He went through a lot for his fans, give him a break. Just cause he doesn't write at all or sing about cutting himself GEEZ!
And during this he thought of his mother - little tidbit there.
Read it in a music book about elvis =P

Elvis was co-writer on this song, get your facts right. He was also credited as writer on other songs, but there are only few songs he actually co-wrote. For example "Love Me Tender" is credited to him, but he didn't write it.

Never understood this preoccupation on whether he wrote his own songs or not,.
A talent to write is obviously great but what I saw on stage and listened to on record made this totally irrelevant
